Projects and Programs
Through Ability Consultants' projects,
individuals and families can receive information and/or technical
assistance on a broad range of topics including, but not limited
- Advocacy for special
education and relating to specific disabilities and how these
disabilities affect the individual and members of their family.
- Peer counseling
- Social Security Representation
for filing a claim (or refiling after being denied)
- Assistance with Social
Services issues (TANF, Food Stamps, LEAP, etc.)
- Vocational Rehabilitation
- Job coaching, preparing
for interviews and resume writing.
- Understanding of hearing
impairment and assistance for hearing impaired persons to
- Audiologist testing and/or hearing
- TTY machines
- Sign language classes
- Coordinating resources
available to hearing-impaired persons
- Education and resources
for the visually-impaired person
- Parenting and Housing
We are also a referring agency in
the communities in which we operate. Agencies that provide services
requiring a referral - i.e. eyeglasses for the household, etc.
- allow us to assist clients in obtaining those services.
We assist clients and professionals
within the home, school, and community.
